背景介绍

  • Mouse Interleukin-5 (IL-5) is a Th2-derived cytokine critical for eosinophil biology. Produced primarily by activated T helper 2 cells and group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) in mice, it signals through a heterodimeric receptor (IL-5Rα/βc) to regulate eosinophil differentiation, survival, and activation. This 45-kDa homodimeric glycoprotein drives allergic inflammation and anti-helminth immunity by promoting eosinophil migration to tissues and stimulating immunoglobulin production in B-1 cells. Its pivotal role in eosinophil-mediated pathologies makes it a key therapeutic target in murine asthma models and parasitic infections.
