背景介绍

  • Luteinizing hormone (LH), a heterodimeric glycoprotein secreted by the pituitary gland, acts on the gonads to regulate development and reproduction. In humans of reproductive age, it plays a central role in follicular development and spermatogenesis, stimulating steroid hormone production and mediating proliferative signals. LH acts on a G-protein coupled receptor (LHCGR), which it shares with the pregnancy hormone human choriogonadotropin (hCG), and has specific intracellular signaling and physiological functions.
