背景介绍

  • Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) is a ubiquitous second messenger that plays a fundamental role in transducing extracellular signals into intracellular physiological responses. It is synthesized from ATP by adenylyl cyclase enzymes upon activation of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and is degraded by phosphodiesterases (PDEs). The intracellular levels of cAMP directly regulate critical cellular processes, including metabolism, gene transcription, ion channel activity, cell proliferation, and apoptosis, primarily through the activation of protein kinase A (PKA) and the Exchange Protein directly Activated by cAMP (EPAC).
