背景介绍
  • Human IgM is the first type of antibody produced by the body in response to an initial exposure to an antigen. It is a large, pentameric molecule, composed of five identical Y-shaped units linked together. Each IgM molecule has ten antigen-binding sites, which allows it to be highly effective at agglutinating pathogens. IgM is primarily found in the bloodstream and plays a crucial role in the early stages of the immune response. It can activate the complement system, enhancing the ability to eliminate pathogens. Additionally, the presence of IgM antibodies in diagnostic tests often indicates a recent infection, as it appears earlier than other types of antibodies like IgG.

    • Flow cytometric analysis of IgM expression on Human PBMC. Human PBMC were stained with Brilliant Violet 421™ Mouse Anti-Human CD19 Antibody and either APC Mouse IgG1, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT APC Mouse Anti-Human IgM Antibody (Right panel) at 1 μl/test. Total viable cells, as determined by Fixable Viability Dye 515 (S0D0013), were used for analysis. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.
