背景介绍
Rat IgM is a high-molecular-weight, pentameric immunoglobulin composed of five μ-heavy-chain-based monomers linked by disulfide bonds and a joining (J) chain; it is the first antibody isotype secreted during the primary immune response, where it provides low-affinity but broad-reactivity pathogen recognition, potently activates the classical complement pathway, and serves as the B-cell antigen receptor on naïve rat B lymphocytes.
