INPP4B (inositol polyphosphate 4-phosphatase type II) is a lipid phosphatase that selectively dephosphorylates PI(3,4)P₂ to PI(3)P, thereby acting as a brake on the PI3K/AKT signaling cascade by limiting AKT plasma-membrane recruitment and activation; through this mechanism it functions context-dependently as either a tumor suppressor—restraining proliferation, survival and chemoresistance in breast, prostate, gastric and nasopharyngeal cancers—or, paradoxically, as an oncogenic facilitator via SGK3 activation in subsets of melanoma, colon cancer and AML, while in male germ cells it safeguards DNA integrity and mitochondrial function during spermiogenesis.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human cerebral cortex. Anti-INPP4B antibody was used at 1/100 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
