背景介绍
  • TEL1 protein is the budding-yeast ortholog of mammalian ATM, a PIKK-family kinase recruited to DNA double-strand breaks by the Mre11-Rad50-Xrs2 (MRX) complex, where it phosphorylates multiple SQ/TQ motifs to launch the DNA-damage checkpoint, controls telomere length, stabilizes MRX at DSB ends independently of its catalytic activity to promote end-tethering and repair by both homologous recombination and non-homologous end-joining, and can be further activated through direct interaction with phosphoinositides such as PI(4)P.
