背景介绍

  • Bak is a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 protein family that localizes to the mitochondrial outer membrane, where it functions as a key executor of apoptosis; upon activation by BH3-only proteins or other stimuli, Bak undergoes conformational changes, oligomerizes, and forms pores in the membrane, leading to the release of cytochrome c and other apoptogenic factors into the cytosol to trigger programmed cell death.
