背景介绍
  • MBD3 is a 32-kDa core subunit of the nuclear Mi-2/NuRD chromatin-remodeling complex that is essential for embryonic development in mice; it binds 5-methyl-cytosine DNA indirectly through a degenerate methyl-CpG-binding domain, couples ATP-dependent nucleosome sliding with histone deacetylase activity, and thereby orchestrates transcriptional repression, pluripotency exit, lineage specification, and heterochromatin formation across vertebrate genomes.
