EEA1, the 1,400-amino-acid Early Endosome Antigen 1, is a peripheral membrane protein that exclusively decorates early endosomes where it orchestrates endocytic trafficking: via its C-terminal FYVE domain it binds phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate for membrane recruitment, while its coiled-coil region forms a homodimeric “tether” that, in concert with its N-terminal Rab5-GTP–binding zinc finger, captures incoming Rab5-positive vesicles and aligns them with target membranes prior to SNARE-mediated fusion, thereby linking PI3-kinase signaling to Rab5 regulation of endosome maturation and cargo sorting.

Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
