  • YTHDF1 (YTH N6-methyladenosine RNA binding protein F1) is a cytoplasmic reader of the m6A epitranscriptomic mark that selectively binds N6-methylated adenosines within mRNAs and, by recruiting eIF3 and other translation initiation factors, enhances the ribosome loading and protein synthesis of its target transcripts, thereby influencing cell proliferation, synaptic plasticity, immune responses and tumorigenesis; structurally it contains an N-terminal intrinsically disordered region and a C-terminal YTH domain that confers high-affinity m6A recognition, and its expression or phosphorylation state is frequently dysregulated in multiple cancers, making it an emerging therapeutic target for small-molecule or oligonucleotide-based interventions.
