CD138 (syndecan-1) is a type-I transmembrane heparan-sulfate/chondroitin-sulfate proteoglycan that tethers the cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix, mediating adhesion, migration, and exosome biogenesis while acting as a co-receptor for growth factors and chemokines. It is constitutively expressed on epithelial cells and terminally differentiated plasma cells (making it a selective marker for plasma-cell neoplasms), but absent from mature B cells. Shed soluble CD138 is a prognostic indicator in multiple myeloma and other cancers; its overexpression or loss correlates with tumor progression, angiogenesis, and metastasis in solid tumors such as breast, colorectal, and liver cancers.
流式分析
Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse CD138 expression on C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow. C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow was stained with APC Rat Anti-Mouse CD45R/B220 antibody and either FITC Rat IgG2a, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT FITC Mouse Anti- Human CD138 antibody (Right panel) at 5 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.
