Perforin is a crucial protein involved in the immune response, primarily produced by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells. It functions as a pore-forming protein, inserting itself into the membranes of target cells, such as virus-infected or cancerous cells. Once integrated, perforin creates pores that disrupt the cell membrane's integrity, leading to osmotic lysis and ultimately killing the target cell. This mechanism is essential for the immune system's ability to eliminate harmful cells and maintain homeostasis.

Goat Anti - Mouse IgG Alexa Fluor® 488 was used as the secondary antibody. Then cells were stained with CD8 – Percp/Cy5.5 antibody separately.
