CD133, also known as prominin-1, is a pentaspan transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the PROM1 gene. It is widely used as a biomarker for the isolation and identification of stem and progenitor cells in various normal tissues and cancer stem cells (CSCs) in different types of tumors. This 97-kDa protein has five transmembrane domains, with its N-terminus extending into the extracellular space and the C-terminus residing inside the cell. CD133 is expressed in neural progenitor cells, human hematopoietic cells, and various cancers. Its presence in cancer cells is often associated with poor prognosis, therapy resistance, and tumor metastasis.
流式分析
Flow cytometric analysis of Human CD133 expression on human PBMC (human peripheral blood mononuclear cells). Human PBMC were stained with SDT FITC Mouse Anti-Human CD45 Antibody (S0B1515) and SDT PE-Cy7 Mouse Anti-Human CD133 Antibody at 5μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.
