背景介绍

  • CD99, also known as MIC2, is a 32 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the CD99 gene, located in the pseudoautosomal region of human chromosomes X and Y. It plays crucial roles in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, apoptosis, and immune responses. CD99 is highly expressed in hematopoietic cells, thymus, endothelial cells, and certain cancers. In normal tissues, it is expressed at low levels but shows differential expression in bone marrow and lymphoid cells.
