β-CTX, or β-C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen, is a specific peptide fragment released during the breakdown of bone collagen. It serves as a direct and sensitive biomarker for bone resorption, the process where osteoclasts break down bone tissue. The detection of β-CTX in blood serum, typically via immunoassay, holds major clinical significance in managing bone metabolism disorders. Its primary application is in osteoporosis. Measuring β-CTX levels helps assess overall bone turnover rate, evaluate fracture risk, and most importantly, monitor the effectiveness of antiresorptive therapy (like bisphosphonates). A significant drop in β-CTX after treatment initiation indicates a positive pharmacological response. It is also valuable in diagnosing and monitoring other conditions with altered bone turnover, such as Paget's disease and bone metastases.

Free β-CTX peptide blocksβ-CTX recombinant mAb (S0B3621) binding with coating antigen (another β-CTX peptide)
Coating antigen: β-CTX peptide, 0.5 µg/ml
S0B3621: 200 ng/ml
Free β-CTX peptide dilutions start from 2 μg/ml.
IC50= 178.5 ng/ml.
