Caspase-9 (Asp330) is the active form of human caspase-9 that has undergone auto-proteolytic cleavage after Asp-330 within the apoptosome, releasing the p35/p12 heterodimer and exposing the catalytic cysteine active site to initiate the intrinsic apoptotic cascade.
