背景介绍

MCM6 protein, also known as minichromosome maintenance protein 6, is a member of the MCM (minichromosome maintenance) family, which includes MCM2, MCM3, MCM4, MCM5, and MCM7. MCM6 protein is a crucial component of the pre-replication complex (pre-RC), which plays a vital role in DNA replication. Additionally, MCM6, along with other MCM family members, forms the MCM complex, which possesses DNA helicase activity and functions as a DNA helicase. In many cancer cells, MCM6 protein expression is enhanced. For example, the continuous elevation of MCM6 expression can promote the formation, development, and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma. Research has shown that upregulation or downregulation of MCM6 protein expression can regulate cell cycle, proliferation, metastasis, immune response, and the maintenance of the DNA replication system.
