Erk1/2 proteins, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2, are key components of the MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) signaling pathway. They play roles crucial in regulating various cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis. Erk1/2 can be activated by a wide range of extracellular stimuli including growth factors, cytokines, and hormones.
