背景介绍
  • Islet1 is a transcription factor protein that plays a crucial role in the development and differentiation of various cell types, particularly in the nervous system and the pancreas. In the nervous system, it is involved in the specification and maturation of motor neurons and interneurons, helping to guide their proper formation and function during embryonic development. In the pancreas, Islet1 is essential for the development of endocrine cells, including those that produce insulin and other hormones. Its expression is tightly regulated and its dysfunction has implicated been in developmental disorders and diseases such as diabetes.
